HASLO looks forward to celebrating this community collaboration that brought non-
profit and local government resources together to bring this project to fruition.
HASLO will provide shuttles from our main office, 487 Leff Street, from 10:45-11:45 a.m.
and return shuttles will run from 12:15-2:00 p.m.
There is no parking on site and extremely limited parking in the neighborhood.

ABOUT MAXINE LEWIS GROVE:
The Maxine Lewis Grove development was named to honor Maxine Lewis, a local activist
who founded San Luis Obispo’s first formal homeless nonprofit, Grass Roots. HASLO
completed the development in November 2025, marking renewed effort by regional
housers to provide additional homelessness support.
The studios and one-bedroom apartments serve formerly homeless individuals earning
30–40 percent AMI who are referred through the region’s Coordinated Entry System.
HASLO applied project-based vouchers to all units to maintain deep affordability. The
existing farmhouse on the site hosts supportive services and office space occupied by a
full-time, on-site case manager and caseworker.
