Subject:Agenda item 5j - Traffic calming at Lawton & Funston
Dear Council,
I strongly support allocating funds to the South Broad Corridor project, which you will be discussing in
agenda item 5j tonight.
I support the project plan being researched further before a final decision is made, however, I want to
voice my support for funding a stopgap measure in the interim. Similar to what others in the Meadow
Park neighborhood have brought up, I feel the current intersection at Funston and Lawson is dangerous
because motorists race through the neighborhood trying to avoid the traffic at South and Broad.
Prior to the finalization of the South Broad Corridor project, I support adding temporary rubber, bolt-in
speed bumps at the intersection of Funston and Lawson to address the urgent safety needs of the
neighborhood.
