California Public Records Act Request
Dear Records Custodian:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, Government Code section 7920.000 et seq., I request
copies of the following records:
1. All records from January 1, 2025 to the present relating to City access to, monitoring of, or use of
the DoorList platform in connection with fraternity, sorority, student organization, or off-campus
event enforcement activities.
2. All emails, text messages, memoranda, reports, notes, screenshots, photographs, social media
posts, or other communications discussing or referencing:
a. DoorList;
b. fraternity event postings on DoorList;
c. the identification of event locations through DoorList;
d. efforts by fraternities, sororities, or student organizations to restrict access to DoorList events
or guest lists;
e. reactions by fraternities, sororities, or student organizations to City monitoring of DoorList.
3. All records, including screenshots, images, photographs, social media posts, messages, emails,
text messages, notes, or reports, depicting, referencing, discussing, or containing any meme,
image, post, or communication directed at or referencing Code Enforcement Supervisor John
Mezzapesa in connection with DoorList monitoring, fraternity event enforcement, fraternity
housing enforcement, or related code enforcement activities.
4. All records reflecting communications among City staff regarding fraternity members' awareness
that City staff, including Code Enforcement personnel, were viewing or monitoring DoorList
events.
5. All records discussing, referencing, or documenting any change to DoorList privacy settings,
access restrictions, guest-list visibility, event visibility, or similar measures following City
monitoring or enforcement activity.
For purposes of this request, "records" includes emails, text messages, instant messages, Teams
messages, photographs, screenshots, electronic documents, memoranda, reports, handwritten notes,
and records stored on personal devices or accounts if used to conduct public business.
If any portion of a record is claimed to be exempt, please provide the non-exempt portions and identify
the specific legal basis for each withholding or redaction.
I request electronic copies whenever available.
