Subject:King Ct / South St Intersection (Project 2001059)
Esteemed Council Members,
I am a resident of King Court and find the intersection with South St very difficult and often dangerous,
particularly turning left when exiting to go towards Higuera Street.
Installation of the upcoming Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon project will negatively impact our access and
safety. Stopping vehicle movement at all four intersections will be detrimental to those of us living at
King Ct. It is our only access. Stopping us from turning left at the signal does not make sense. Traffic will
build up while waiting for the signal which will prevent King Ct. from exiting for a very long time.
We were not notified of the proposed project and thus not given an opportunity to weigh in with our
concerns. I support modifications that would allow King Ct. to turn left since it is our only means of
access while further enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety.
Please consider this proposed modification. I know there is a deadline to use money. Perhaps that
deadline could be extended.
