The intersection at King Court and South Street is, at best challenging, and often hazardous, particularly turning left exiting King Court to access South Street towards Higura Street. Only recently, I learned about the upcoming project to install a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon at this intersection. Regarding the proposed project, I have concerns I feel the need to share: 1) Those of us who are residents along King Court, Parkside and The Village communities, were not made aware of this proposed project. Consequently, we were not given the opportunity to provide our input or communicate our concerns, even though it will have an impact on us. 2) The project, as currently proposed, will negatively impact our access to South Street, perhaps even making it more unsafe. It already feels as if we are currently taking our life in our hands, at times, to turn left onto South Street from King Court. (Even turning right onto South Street from King Court takes a lot of patience at certain times of the day.) 3) I’m worried that there may be times of days that King Court will get backed up with cars attempting to access South Street (residents as well as those who use King Court as access to Meadow Park). Combined with item 2 above, this could have an adverse e?ect on the quality of life in our communities along King Court and even adversely a?ect our property values. I’m in favor of enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety while also taking into account the only means of ingress and egress we have to King Court. Therefore, I support the modifications proposed by fellow residents Dan See, Wes Thompson, and Tyler Sage. They have put a lot of thought into these modifications that would better serve the safety of all of those who utilize this intersection: residents, visitors of Meadow Park, pedestrians, and cyclists alike. Thank you for your consideration and with appreciation, Julie Forbes 2221 King Court #3 1
