Subject:South & King Crossing Improvements
Hello,
I am a resident of King Court and a Cal Poly student who would like to make a comment on the South & King
crossing project. I am in favor of the proposed traffic signal at the South & King intersection, since it would
provide a safer way for residents, pedestrians, and bikers to utilize the street. The previously proposed
pedestrian beacon is not enough to ensure that pedestrians can cross safely considering the speed of cross-
traffic, and would not make much of a difference compared to the current system. As someone who drives
often, I have had to spend a long time at the intersection waiting until it was clear to be able to leave, and
residents coming from the other side of the street also makes turning a hazard without proper communication
or understanding of traffic laws. I hope my input is reviewed and considered for the upcoming city council
meeting on the matter.
