Subject:Public comment- South St Pedestrian Crossing Beacon
Dear Council Members,
Please support Safe Routes to School by installing the approved pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB) on
South Street as planned and without delay. Please keep student walking and biking safety as the
project's primary focus and avoid changes that could increase traffic conflicts and cut-through traffic
near schools and neighborhood routes. We use a PHB every day on our way to school - even though it's a
longer route - because it feels so much safer than the closer traffic signal intersection.
