Subject:Traffic Signal @ South and King Streets
I have lived in a condo at 2230 Exposition Drive, for forty years. I am in
favor of a traffic signal at South and King Streets.
The current flashing pedestrian lights are nice but need improvement as so
many drivers ignore them while pedestrians are still crossing the street.
Pedestrian hybrid beacons are so confusing and usually don't allow
pedestrians enough time to cross the street before the solid red starts to
blink.
Vehicles on King St. that attempt to turn left on South Street do not have
a center lane they can pull into and wait until it's safe to merge into
traffic. They must wait until both lanes on South Street are clear before
they can pull out. This is so dangerous.
Because of my above comments, I am in favor of a traffic signal at the
corner of South and King Street.
