Subject:South Street and King Court
Hello,
I'm riding to express my support for the traffic signal at the South Street and King Court intersection. I live
in the condos nearby and walk my kids across that intersection to school, I've seen many close calls with
either distracted drivers or distracted children stepping out before checking if drivers are stopping for the
beacon. I believe a stoplight is the safest way to manage pedestrian traffic across that intersection, and
with that intersection being heavily trafficked by Hawthorne elementary students, I think pedestrian
safety should be prioritized.
I know there might be some concerns from community members about slowing down traffic on South,
but I think it's better to have a traffic light there than an eventual memorial on that corner.
