CALL TO ORDER A Regular Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Human Relations Commission was called to order on June 3, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, by Vice Chair Campos. 2. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR Motion By Commissioner Parker Second By Commissioner Browne To continue this item to the July 1, 2026 meeting. Ayes (4): Commissioner Browne, Commissioner Fields, Commissioner Parker, and Vice Chair Campos Absent (3): Commissioner Carlotti, Commissioner DeTurris, and Chair Kasprzak CARRIED (4 to 0) 3. PUBLIC COMMENT FOR ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Public Comment: None --End of Public Comment-- Page 5 of 30 2 4. CONSENT 4.a CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - MAY 6, 2026 HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION MINUTES Motion By Commissioner Parker Second By Commissioner Fields To approve the Human Relations Commission Minutes of May 6, 2026. Ayes (4): Commissioner Browne, Commissioner Fields, Commissioner Parker, and Vice Chair Campos Absent (3): Commissioner Carlotti, Commissioner DeTurris, and Chair Kasprzak CARRIED (4 to 0) 5. BUSINESS ITEMS 5.a OVERVIEW OF PEOPLE SELF-HELP HOUSING’S AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO’S HOUSING PROGRAMS Commissioner Carlotti arrived at 5:20 p.m. People's Self-Help Housing Chief Administrative Officer Nicole Ramos, Director of Clinical Services Rick Gulino, and Director of Property Management Jane Renahan and Housing Authority of the City of San Luis Obispo Executive Director Michelle Pedigo presented the report and responded to Commission inquiries. Vice Chair Campos opened Public Comment Public Comment: None --End of Public Comment-- Vice Chair Campos closed Public Comment Action: No action taken. 6. COMMENT AND DISCUSSION 6.a STAFF & COMMISSIONER UPDATES AND AGENDA FORECAST Page 6 of 30 3 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager Matt Pennon and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Admin Specialist Sam Vethavanam provided the following update of upcoming projects:  CA Civil Rights Summit  The Belonging Project Event 2  Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness  Belonging Beyond the Binary  Diversity Partners Network, June 4th  CCRU Convening, June 8th  Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, June 13th  Monday Meet Ups starting June 15th  Juneteenth, June 20th Commissioner Fields provided the following updates:  County of San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisor's Pride Proclamation on June 4th  SLOMA GAY thering, June 16th  Pride in the Plaza, June 27th  Trans Day in the Park, June 28th Vice Chair Campos provided the following updates:  History Center of SLO County, Chicano Archives 7.
