WWWWWW"' COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
FROM: Diane R. Gladwell, City Clerk`16
SUBJECT: League Conference Resolutions and Voting Delegate
RECOMMENDATION: By motion,
1) Designate Council Member Romero as voting delegate and
City Administrative Officer John Dunn as alternate; and
2) Authorize the voting delegate to support the resolutions as
proposed unless Council provides alternate direction.
DISCUSSION:
On September 20th, Council expected Vice Mayor Settle and Council Member Rappa to
attend the League Conference and therefore appointed them as voting delegates. Their
plans have changed, and therefore new voting delegates must be appointed.
Additionally, we have received a number of proposed resolutions from the League of
California Cities. Please review the attached resolutions for consistency with the City's
presently adopted policies and what is, in the long-term, in the best interest of California
cities as well as.the City of San Luis Obispo.
These resolutions may be further modified by the voting membership itself before being
voted upon at the General Business Session on Monday, October 24th. Therefore, the
voting delegates need to be granted some flexibility to deal with the newly worded
resolutions.
