Incident Details:
On January 24, 2023, officers with the San Luis Obispo Police Department responded to a reported
assault in a residential neighborhood. During the investigation, detectives determined that Isaac
Owens allegedly struck his former girlfriend multiple times, causing injuries, before fleeing the scene.
Investigators also learned there was an active emergency protective order against Owens related to a
previous assault and that he was allegedly in unlawful possession of a handgun. Detectives later
obtained an arrest warrant, conducted surveillance at Owens' residence on South Street, and
arrested him during a traffic stop on January 25, 2023. A subsequent search of his residence
reportedly resulted in the recovery of a semi-automatic handgun from his bedroom.
