Location: 800 block of Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo, CA Incident details: On August 19, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the San Luis Obispo Police Department responded to a report involving Jonathan Davis, a registered sex offender, who allegedly followed a girl younger than 14 into a local business located in the 800 block of Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo. 1 According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the juvenile victim reported that Davis grabbed her buttocks and attempted to pick her up. The victim and a nearby sibling yelled for their mother, after which Davis walked away but remained inside the business. The victim's mother confronted Davis, instructed him to remain inside the store, and contacted 911. Officers later arrested Davis on suspicion of multiple charges. Davis was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $150,000. I am requesting the following public records related to this incident: All available body-worn camera footage from officers who responded to the business, contacted Jonathan Davis, investigated the allegations, and made the arrest.
