Wilson To:Scott, Rick Hello, I am researching the case involving Kona Wilson, who was arrested following a domestic violence incident and barricaded suspect response on November 3, 2023, in San Luis Obispo, California. Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Government Code §§ 7920.000 et seq.), I respectfully request copies of the following public records related to this incident: Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage Dash Camera footage Incident Report Suspect: Kona Wilson, 37 Date of Incident: November 3, 2023 Date of Arrest: November 3, 2023 Officer(s) Involved: Unknown (please include all responding officers, crisis negotiators, tactical personnel, and any assisting San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office personnel) Location: 500 block of South Street, San Luis Obispo, California Incident Details: 1 On November 3, 2023, at approximately 1:08 p.m., officers with the San Luis Obispo Police Department responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Street after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident. According to police, Kona Wilson, 37, allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend, threatened to kill her while brandishing a knife, and then barricaded himself inside the residence after the victim escaped and called 911. Officers established a perimeter around the residence and nearby neighbors were instructed to shelter in place. After several hours of negotiations, officers deployed a flash-bang distraction device in the side yard. Wilson surrendered shortly afterward and was taken into custody at approximately 4:11 p.m. Wilson was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office assisted the San Luis Obispo Police Department during the incident.
