CALL TO ORDER: Chair Jill LeMieux
PRESENT: Palazo, Levi, Pearce (Present bot not official pending City Council Action
STAFF PRESENT: Molly Cano, Tourism Manager Chair LeMieux called the meeting to order at 5:33 pm
Daniel Levi, Jill LeMieux and Sasha Palazzo, appointed by the City Council on March 18, 2014, took their
Oath’s of Office to serve on the PCC.
CONSENT AGENDA
ACTION: Moved by Cox/Palazzo to approve the consent agenda.

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. SAN LUIS OBISPO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Representatives from Chamber of Commerce presented the quarterly contractor update report. They
noted the City was #1 in Gallup poll. CNN picked it up and then the local media was connected to the
story. Chamber staff also highlighted that the new visitor center has been a success in terms of year over
year increases.
2. 2014-2015 BUDGET DISCUSSION
The Committee discussed possible recommendations as to 2014-2015 budget allocations. The
Committee asked what constitutes the $2,500 increase in support cost listed in the budget. It was noted
that the request for the Visitor Center in 2014-15 is $95,000, so next year’s budget is $10,000 short. The
Committee listed its priorities for meeting the available budget in 2014-15, as follows: (1) Carryover, (2)
Beautifications, (3) Support Costs. The Committee requested a break-down of the expenditures under
Events and Activities. The questions and comments will be addressed prior to the next meeting.
2. 2014 SLO HAPPENINGS PROGRAM APP UPDATE
Verdin presented an update on the 2014 SLO Happenings app. Committee Member Palazzo
mentioned that the app needs a home button. Committee Member Levi asked how community
members get listed on the app.

No update on last year’s GIA. The subcommittee will be reviewing and recommending this year’s
applications. The first meeting of the subcommittee is next Thursday, April 17, 2014. The full Committee
would like a total of all of the requests.
TBID Report: Clint Pearce updated the committee on the recent TBID meeting and reviewed the minutes included with the agenda.
