Hello City of San Luis Obispo City Personnel Board,
Thank you for your continued dedication to serving and representing the citizens of San Luis Obispo. I am
writing to encourage the Personnel Board to move past the recent controversy surrounding Mayor Erica
Stewart. I believe she remains one of the most effective mayors our city has had in recent memory. While
the release of the grand jury report was unfortunate, honest mistakes happen, and it should not
overshadow her extensive positive work for our community. What I appreciate most about Mayor
Stewart is her thoughtful, pragmatic leadership; she listens to all perspectives rather than aligning
strictly with any political ideology. I respectfully ask that the Board accept your recent action to not
censure Mayor Stewart as final and allow the City to focus its time and energy on the critical issues facing
our city such as the unhoused population, economic issues and your continued dedication to climate
action.
