Council Members, Please agendize a public censure hearing for a date in the future regarding Mayor Stewart’s breach of confidential information. Her sensor was recently heard at a Personnel Board’s hearing. They decided that her breach of confidential information from the Grand Jury to the Cal Poly staff did not meet the standard to be censored. The Personnel Board found it an unintentional error and did not meet the level of censure. I was shocked by the decision when we know how important confidentially is in most professional positions. I was employed by the State and County of San Luis Obispo my entire career and confidentiality was the basic understanding of all levels of staff. It is so basic to everyday behavior that for it to be considered a miss step by our Major is unacceptable. Additionally her breach of confidentiality was between the Major and Cal Poly. She should be overly sensitive to how city residences are frustrated with how Cal Poly chooses to not engage with the City in some basic dialogue, guidelines and ordinances to assist Cal Poly and residents both feel supported in our city. If for no other reason please take Mayor Stewart’s censure to the City Council so the citizens of San Luis Obispo will know the council is serious about working with Cal Poly and not in their pocket when it comes to how we deal with Cal Poly and City of San Luis Obispo issues. Thank you for your time. Victoria Wood 972 Church San Luis Obispo, Calif. 805/440-1580 1
