We stopped producing Kombucha at our facility April 1st of this year. Production is happening at a large copacking facility in Ventura now. Since then, it's been a long slow process of breaking everything down and getting rid of everything. We are down to 2 of the rollup warehouses that we still control, one of which is just storage for stuff. The first warehouse still has our big tanks in it, which we've had trouble selling. We're working with an auctioneer now who will hopefully be able to help with that. 5 Our remaining team is doing Whalerock Music Festival this weekend in Templeton, want to come by next week? I can also meet tomorrow (Thursday) between 9-11am if that window would work for you. Just a quick update, production has fully stopped at our facility and we've been working around the clock the last few weeks to get everything torn down. By the end of this month we hope to have all our units except unit 1 surrendered back to our landlord. We will need to keep unit 1 for an uncertain amount of time as storage for our large assets as we are waiting for SBA approval before we can sell them. So far they have been frustrating to work with unfortunately so I'm not sure on timeline there. Cheers, On Tue, Feb 21, 2023 at 10:06 AM Jake Pritzlaff <jake@whalebirdkombucha.com> wrote: Hi Nick, We told the property owner what's going on, and while he's obviously not happy, he understands. We will be converting the units to the best of our ability back to the condition in which we received them and from there handing them back to him. Our assumption is that beyond that, it's up to him and future tenants to make sure anything that goes in is permitted. Think that's the correct approach? Regarding a separate tasting room, we have been working with George from CCB on 'the HUB' which is the new spot on Monterey street (used to be daylight gardens) that will be multi-tenant. The future of that project is a bit uncertain to us though as we don't have a definite timeline on anything. What resources do you think would be helpful in the transition? I would be happy to talk to anyone. Let me know your thoughts, Cheers, On Tue, Feb 21, 2023 at 9:28 AM Buckley, Nick <nbuckley@slocity.org> wrote: Greetings Jake, 7 I appreciate the update and the continued progress towards resolving the violations. Have you had any conversations with the property owner regarding expectations once all production is moved out of the space? Also, I know you and your partner were considering keeping an office/tasting room/store in San Luis Obispo even after production is moved. Have you considered that further? If so, the city may have some resources to help you. Let me know if that is something you are still considering so I can get you in touch with the right people. It's been a minute since we spoke in your office, just wanted to give you an update. We are nearly at the contract sign phase with our two co-packers. We've had some back and forth with product formulation this month and last month, just trying to get their output to taste right. Once those contracts are signed we can begin the process of transitioning our manufacture over to them, although that transition will take a bit of time. We never heard back from your office on timeline so we're going to continue to move as quickly as we can without putting the business in major jeopardy. We're close though.
