Hey guys I have worked with this Arborist for years. After meeting him in the field and having past experiences with him,
I feel confident that he will follow through with monitoring and protection measures stated in the protection plan. He
will be on site during any excavation grading or root pruning .

Sorry, I have been preoccupied with other work and not responded as promptly as I would like. Barbara made it clear
that the number one priority was working through and testing the new Cityworks program, due to “Go Live” in October.
It’s been like studying for finals… or Intelliatime on steroids. Ask Andrew Collins, he loves spending countless hours
learning and configuring this new program…

After visiting the site and meeting with the applicants Arborist, I have determined that the Tree Protection and
Preservation Plan submitted by the applicants are acceptable by the City Arborist. Also after meeting with one of the
applicants, and Project Coordinator Josh Blair, I have a an understanding that excavation cuts will not be made for the
small retaining wall located near the large 40”-50” diameter oak tree proposed to be retained. The small wall will be
stacked at existing grade. Cuts shall be made at the furthest extent possible to accommodate the proposed building
footprint. The Plans shall include this requirement so that any contractor’s subs or folks doing the excavation work are
aware of the grading requirements. All tree protection fencing shall be in place before any work is started.
Trees that were not part of the original tree protection and approval plan shall be subject to Tree Regulations and will be
reviewed by the Tree Committee. Mitigation in the form of onsite tree plantings may be required. Donating to the city’s”
Tree Bank “may be a reasonable alternative for this location if onsite plantings are not feasible. These donated trees are
primarily used for creek restorations and Open Space enhancements. Occasionally they are utilized for Park and Street
tree replacements.
