The meeting was attended by Kyle Harris and Mel (representing the trustee of the properties). Several of the proposed building envelopes encroach within the dripline of the existing Coast Live Oaks, Quercus agrifolia. Exploratory trenches should be dug to determine precise root location and size. A better recommendation can then be made as to the type of foundation (ie slab or raised) and tree protection measures. The plans used were dated 11-7-12 and prepared by Harris Architecture and Design. Most surveyed trees had a number (diameter) and a tag number. All tree numbers given are the tag number unless otherwise noted. Lot 2 Remove trees 7 and 10 Raise canopy on tree 8 Remove lowest limb on tree 9 Remove lowest limb on tree 30 (included bark and decayed 8” pruning cut) and the next limb up overhanging lots 2 and 3 Lot 4 Remove tree 9/8 (no tag) Remove 2 lowest limbs on tree 22 Raise canopy on Tree 27 Lot 7 Remove trees 47, 56, 57, 58 59, 60 I recommend the removal of tree 46. It has many areas of decay in the trunk and would require removal of several large limbs for building clearance. The canopy would still overhang the structure. I believe the threat of limb failure poses a significant hazard to any structure placed within the canopy. Lot 8 Remove trees 61, 62, 63, 68, and tree 5 (no tag) - many of these trees are shown as multiple trees but are 1 tree with multiple trunks Remove trunk to the north on tree 69 (included bark on 2 primaries at 3’ above grade) Dave Ragan ISA Certified Arborist WE-0345A State Contractors License #544988
