1. CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Active Transportation Committee was
called to order on July 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room at City
Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, by Chair Otto.
2. PRESENTATIONS
2.a STAFF INTRODUCTION
Staff introduced the new Active Transportation Manager, Jennifer Rice, to the
Active Transportation Committee.
2.b APPOINTMENT – OATH OF OFFICE
Appointed by the City Council, Myesha Thomas and Aiden Wells took an oath of
office to serve on the Active Transportation Committee.
3. PUBLIC COMMENT FOR ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA
No comments.
4. CONSENT
3.a CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES – MAY 20, 2026, ACTIVE
TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE MINUTES

5.b COMMUNITY BIKE SHARE PROGRAM – UPDATE
Staff presented to the committee an update of the bike share program.

The committee recommends to the City Council a request for proposals for
launching a bike share program that will serve the city.

5.c VISION ZERO ACTION PLAN UPDATE
Staff presented to the committee an update of the Vision Zero Action Plan.

The committee supports the Vision Zero Plan as presented and would like
city staff to take committee comments into consideration as part of that plan.

5.d SOUTH & KING COSSING PROJECT UPDATE
Staff presented to the committee and update to the South & King Street
crossing project.

5.e SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL SUB-COMMITTEE ELECTION AND
UPDATE

Sub-committee member updated the committee and staff of the Safe
Routes to School project.
Public Comment:

Action: By consensus, the Committee accepted Chair Brooks’s
nomination of Member Wells to the Safe Routes to School Subcommittee.

Active Transportation Committee members provided a brief update.

Staff provided updates on the following topic:

Staff provided the agenda forecast.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Active
Transportation Committee is scheduled for September 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in
the Council Hearing Room at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
