SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Theresa Merkle to the Human Relations Commission to fill an unscheduled vacancy
with a term ending on March 31, 2013
DISCUSSION
Due to the resignation of Human Relations Commissioner Tom Sant effective April 4, 2011,
there is an unscheduled vacancy on the Human Relations Commission. Staff advertised for the
vacant position in accordance with statutory requirements.
Council Liaison Subcommittee Member Vice Mayor Dan Carpenter and Council Member Kathy
Smith conducted the interviews on December S, 2011. Following the interview the Subommittee
members recommended the appointment of Ms. Merkle.
