Downtown SLO supports the City's exploration of a bike share program and
encourages a thoughtful, collaborative planning process. We strongly
encourage strategic evaluation of docking locations through meaningful
engagement with businesses, property owners, and the community,
prioritizing existing structures as primary docking stations and maintaining a
goal of zero bike clutter. The program should preserve accessibility for
residents and visitors while complementing the unique character and
operational needs of Downtown. We also encourage continued investment in
bicycle infrastructure and a regional bike share model that allows
neighboring communities to easily participate, over time.
