DISCUSSION Section 906 of the City Charter requires that the City Council approve the sale or disposal of surplus property with an estimated value greater than$100. The following items are recommended for surplus by the Departments of Public Works and Utilities. • Public Works Department The Director of Public Works has identified two pickup trucks as surplus to the needs of the City.Both vehicles require repairs that exceed their value. Both have been replaced in accordance with the City's fleet management or equipment replacement policy. • Utilities Department The Utilities Director has identified a Dodge Ramcharger as surplus to the needs of the City, because of continuing maintenance issues. This vehicle was replaced in accordance with the City's fleet management or equipment replacement policy. All items proposed for disposal are more fully described on Exhibit A. The disposal method will be in accordance with the City's surplus property policy as determined by the Director of Finance to be in the best interest of the City. CONCURRENCES The Department Heads for Public Worsts and Utilities concur with this recommendation. FISCAL IMPACT It is anticipated that the City will receive$7,000.00 in proceeds from the disposal of the vehicles. (1999 Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO DECLARING EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY WFIEREAS, the City Charter requires that the Council approve the sale or disposal of surplus property with an estimated value greater than S 100; and WBEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Utilities Director have identified equipment items as set forth in Exhibit A which are no longer needed by the City. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Council of the City of San Luis Obispo hereby declares: SECTION 1. All items of property listed in Exhibit A are no longer needed by the City and are surplus property. SECTION 2.Disposal of the property shall be made by sale at public auction or by another method of disposal in accordance with the City's surplus property policy as determined by the Director of Finance to be in the best interest of the City.
