OR 2) Reappoint Zeljka Howard to a four-year term to expire on 3/31/04, and appoint Rob Schultz to a three-year term to expire on 3/31/03. DISCUSSION Two terms will expire on the ARC 3/31/00: Lance Parker and Zeljka Howard. Mr. Parker does not wish to be reappointed. Ms. Howard does want to be reappointed and is eligible. There may also be a vacancy if ARC Chair Jim Aiken is appointed to the Planning Commission. Should he be appointed to the Planning Commission, Council should vote for recommendation #1 so that the resulting three vacancies can be filled. Updn.reviewing all applications and interviewing candidates, the Council Subcommittee is pleased to recommend the nominations listed above. As a resident of this wonderful community, I have a commitment to the preservation of the city's natural beauty and unique character. As a SLO property owner,I understand how visual desireability and compatible design directly impact property values. During my 18 year professional career in residential mortgage lending,I have worked in both the Los Angeles and Orange County markets where I have observed a myriad of architectural styles and designs,some more harmoniously compatible than others. My wife and I met at Cal Poly, SLO while pursuing our undergraduate degrees where we fell in love with each other and this wonderful community. We always knew we would raise our 2 children in SLO. We relocated back to SLO in 1995 and still pinch ourselves to make sure it's not a dream. I am a licensed California Real Estate Broker and I am preparing to apply for my California Residential Appraisal license. I am familiar with zoning law and conforming land use concepts. I have worked fust hand with the SLO Community Development Department in 1997 when I`pulled permits"as"owner/builder"in order to construct my current primary residence.
