SUBJECT: Review of 60-Day Agenda for November, 2000
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1) Move the first Regular Meeting of the month from Tuesday, November 7`n to Thursday,
November 9`n.
2) Call a special meeting for Tuesday,November 10
The first regular meeting date is November 7`n, however that Tuesday is also the date for the Statewide
and General Municipal Elections. Traditionally the City Council has moved the meeting to the next
business day,but because there are conflicts with the calendars of one or more members of the
Council, staff is recommending that the Council move the meeting to Thursday,November 9'n. In
addition, given the number of important issues that are scheduled to come before the City Council
during the next couple of months, staff requests that the Council review the attached 60-Day Agenda at
tonight's meeting and consider calling a special meeting for Tuesday,November 14`n.
There are a number of very important issues that are scheduled to come to the Council in November,
including the Final Draft of the Parking &Downtown Access Plan (PDAP). Consistent with the action
plan outlined in the CAO's Council Memorandum dated September 1, 2000 (copy attached), staff has
scheduled a three-hour study session on the PDAP for the meeting of November 9b. Further, unless
otherwise directed, staff will recommend that the Council take formal action on the PDAP on
November 215`. Mayor Settle has suggested that the Council defer the PDAP discussion to the.new
City Council and will speak to that issue this evening.
