Subject: City Council Correspondence: RTA support of 2035 SLO LUCE
Dear Mayor Marx and San Luis Obispo City Council Members:
Please let this letter serve as an expression of my appreciation for including the San Luis Obispo Regional Transit
Authority in all phases of the City of San Luis Obispo's 2035 Land Use and Circulation Element development. I have
attended most of the Task Force and other public LUCE meetings over the past two years, and I am happy to report that
your staff has thoughtfully and professionally responded to any and all input that I have submitted on behalf of RTA, as
well as the input I provided as a proud citizen of our fine city.
I am pleased with the work completed during the LUCE planning effort. I look forward to RTA and the City of San Luis
Obispo working together in the coming years to achieve the public transit mode split goal (increased from 8% to 12 %)
that was developed as part of this planning effort. You can count on RTA to be an important partner in enhancing the
travel experience in San Luis Obispo today and in the years ahead. Please call or email me if you have any questions or
need additional information from me.
