LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE + PLANNING 3427 Migk)elito C..oUl1, San LUiS Obispo Co. 93401 P:805.541.4509 I F=:805.546.0525 Mi hael@oasisassoc.com www OASISASSOC.com 1 OCT 17 2014 Dear Mayor Jan Marx and City Council Members,    As just one member of the Airport Land Use Commission ( ALUC) I cannot speak for the commission but  as a local resident of San Luis Obispo I am in support of the City Council’s approval of the LUCE as well as  the override of the Airport Land Use Commission at this point in time.     I know the City Staff has been working with the ALUC for the past two years in an attempt to gain  consistency between the current Airport Land Use Plan (ALUP) and the Cities proposed LUCE and to date  that has not been achievable. I am aware of the fact that the City has a timeline they must meet in order  to move forward approving the LUCE and because of that see the City has no other option but to  override the ALUC at this time.     It will be my goal as a Commissioner to work with my fellow Commissioners and the City Staff to  bringing the future amendment to the ALUP and the LUCE into consistency so that in the future the City  Council can resend their override and we as a community  and the ALUC can continue to work together  for the benefit of the airport as well as meeting our local housing requirements and needs.    Thank you for your time and efforts to date,  Michael Cripe
