It is fair to say this is an airport- affected area. I have complained to the airport twice in the past 5 years via phone, both times regarding small private jets taking off steeply late at night, making maximum noise. Never got any reply, and it never got better. The recession helped, as rumour had it, the jet was for a developer. Fortunately, commercial planes are much quieter, and operated with more care. On the positive side, I walk to the airport when fly out. No parking issues! am in favor of the city having more say in the airport area, via the updated general plan. At least, development proposals will be heard in public, instead of by a secretive, non - responsive board. However, I caution you to be very conservative in approving projects near the airport. We need our airport, and noise is important. I am glad that I am no closer. Safety is paramount, and no further permanent structures should be built in the flight path. There have been sufficient crashes on takeoff and landing, let's not have them occur into someone's work, shopping, or home. Vickie Backman 1108 Poppy Ln SLO, CA Editing provided via mobile device
