John..I think you are completely non-authentic ... I don't need a "sneak preview" I saw it all John ... watch it and
learn ... really dude ... pretty amazing.... watch the council meeting and explain... really? It isn't just about the
Dan thing it is about you ... please resign ... you embarrass the city... Best, Stephan

Thanks for sharing your views, Stephan. For your information, here's a "sneak peak" at a statement that
I provided to the Tribune this afternoon:
Hi AnnMarie,
Let me state categorically that my conduct toward Dan last evening was regrettable, with
respect to the disclosure of matters only known through our joint participation in a closed
session. I apologized to Dan then, I've apologized to him again today (in writing), and if I may,
please permit me to use this opportunity to apologize to him once again publicly.
I hope that Dan can find it in his heart to forgive me, but that is for him to decide. I hope too
that the voters of San Luis Obispo will do so as well... based on an understanding that I was
wrong and that closed session matters are sacred and intended to remain confidential.
... I hope and expect that Dan and I will find a way to work together for the benefit of the
citizens of this community. That work begins now, and I pledge myself to trying to make that
happen.

As you can see, I hope, I regret having disclosed confidential information about Dan's conduct during
closed session. I'll accept whatever consequences are appropriate for that mistake, but ask that you give
it a little time to heal.
If you like, you may certainly call me to discuss your concerns directly. I take my role as a Councilman
seriously and I do regret that I've let you down — not for the first time, I know.

Mayor and City Council Members..
I have watched the televised version of the city council meetings on a regular basis for the last four
years.
What happened last night is appalling.
The level of professionalism and civility of the council has lowered to a place that is unforgivable..
John Ashbaugh I ask you to resign ... you are counterproductive ... you speak without listening... you talk
and talk and talk without meaning or point ... you are a public embarrassment ... what a travesty... that you
violated the sanctity of the closed counsel session is unforgivable ... there is no appropriate apology ... you
then and there abrogated your right to serve with dignity and thoughtfulness ... go please and let the city
find a new path ... but your's is not that path...
I am very sad but very troubled by what was a televised session of complete disfunction that lives
on ... forever ... on- line...
Best,
Stephan Lamb
