Subject: City Council Meeting 10/21/2014
I have been troubled all day by the verbal breach of closed- session confidentiality by Councilman John
Ashbaugh during last night's City Council meeting. I waited before writing to allow my emotional shock and
disappointment to cool.
I just read Annemarie Comejo's on -line article. In the article she reports that there is a request by Kevin Rice for
disciplinary action. I would like to add my name to that request.
John Ashbaugh has a history of questionable moral lapses. He did not defend his own Mayor at the Town &
Gown meeting, he applauded a negative comment directed toward fellow councilman Dan Caprenter made by
the speaker at the recent RQN dinner. I know that these lapses do not rise to disciplinary level but they do show
this most recent breach to be a pattern rather than an exception.
There comes a time when apologies no longer erase bad behavior and need to be followed up by action rather
than continued mea culpas.
Sincerely,
Linda White
