Subject: Reconciliation / Restitution wrt Ashbaugh
Dear Dan Carptenter, Jan, and our other council members,
In your response to John Ashbough's action in the last council meeting, I request that the issue be settled with
the goal and in the spirit of reconciliation over restitution. I add that I do not know John aside from a few visits
that I've had to council meetings and the exchange of two emails. I speak as a community member mindful that
our actions today and here inform wider actions tomorrow and elsewhere. I am mindful of the processes I wish
to predominate in the world my children will raise their children in. I am not asking that the incident be
forgotten, only that the intention of the decision making body be to foster a process that will heal the wound in
the community and provide a model to resolve future conflicts.
