As of this morning, November 10, 2014 the County has verified signed petitions from 25 properties in San Luis Obispo. The total number of lodging properties in the City of San Luis Obispo is 38. In addition, the City's Finance Department has calculated that these 25 properties account for 81% of the revenue collection in the City of San Luis Obispo. At the request of a Council member, below is the list of lodging properties in San Luis Obispo indicating which properties have or have not returned signed petitions to the County. The following properties in the City of San Luis Obispo have returned petitions: • Apple Farm Inn • Avenue Inn • Best Western Royal Oak • Best Western Somerset Inn • Budget Inn • Courtyard by Marriott • El Toro Inn • Embassy Suites Hotel • Granada Hotel & Bistro • Hampton Inn & Suites • Holiday Inn Express • La Cuesta Inn • Lamplighter Inn & Suites • Los Padres Motel • Madonna Inn • Motel 6 #1373 • Motel 6 #138 • Ramada Olive Tree Inn • Rose Garden Inn • San Luis Inn & Suites • San Luis Obispo Travelodge Countywide TMD Update Page 2 • Sunbeam Motel • Super 8 Motel • Vagabond Inn • Villa San Luis Motel The following properties in the City of San Luis Obispo have not returned petitions: • America's Best Value Inn • Economy Motel • Garden Street Inn Bed & Breakfast • Heritage Inn • Homestead Motel • Hostel Obispo • Lexington Inn • Donnington Place • Peach Tree Inn • Petit Soleil • Quality Suites San Luis Obispo • San Luis Creek Lodge • Sands Inn & Suites The petition collection process from the County requests that a returned petition indicates a vote in favor of the formation of the district but it does not call for a protest vote against it. Staff can not speculate as to the reason why a petition has not been returned from the 13 properties listed above who have not returned signed petitions to the County Office. At this time, official communication against the formation of the district has been received by the City Clerk from one property is San Luis Obispo. That communication was from Mr. George Newland of the Quality Suites and has been circulated as agenda correspondence.
