This plan doesn't address any of the boundaries with Laguna Green, Laguna Green Mobile Estates, the PG&E transformers, Los Osos Valley Road, possible easements, property lines or anything outside the scope of the garden itself. This is a major problem, and constitutes a myopic lack of foresight on the garden's planning regarding the local community. Secondly, there have been many discussions about the potential downsides of the location of the garden, and there are many. But most important is the disruption of the gardens neighbor's lives'. Arguments to the effect that gardeners aren't loud or disruptive have been made by many. But that is not the problem. The primary issue that makes this location untenable is proximity, plain and simple. It doesn't matter what the activity is, if it's right outside of your window, it's disruptive, disconcerting, and bothersome. There is not enough room on this lot to provide a proper barrier between the garden and housing. Some have pointed out the Meadow Park project as an example of what we might expect from the Laguna garden. The Meadow Park garden is 28 feet from an eight foot high brick privacy wall protecting that complex. That wall does not exist at Laguna Green and there certainly is not enough room for any appreciable barrier to our property on the tiny little lot at Laguna Green Golf Course. The proposed tree barrier is not a sufficient solution and will take many years to mature. There are those that feel that the opponents of this plan have some lack of appreciation for community gardens. That is far from the truth, community gardens are a great resource for community beautification, pride and cohesiveness. The problem with this project that should halt its completion is its location and proximity to primary housing residences. Please make the right decision and find another location for this project.
