Re: PH1 Dear Council Members, I strongly object to your placing this item on a new council member's first meeting, where his vote is required to override airport safety and noise regulations. The four of you owe it to Mr. Rivoire to give him time to learn more than he has learned from his Chamber activities, to talk to and listen to residents, to fully grasp all the LUCE issues and their history and their implications for the future well -being of this city and its residents as contrasted to what's good for your and his campaign contributors. For the four of you to seek to push him into making this momentous vote at his first meeting smacks of railroading this very poor general plan update regardless of the consequences to him and to you, and the costs to residents as the inevitable litigation takes place. I ask, therefore, that your first order of business be to postpone the LUCE update vote for a couple of months so that Mr. Rivoire can first get his bearings as a councilperson. Sincerely, Richard Schmidt
