Subject: Compromise with ALUC
I do NOT support overruling the Airport Land Use Commission plans for ensuring safety in the airport area. The fact that
ALUC standards conflict with the proposed LUCE plan for high density housing in the airport area does not seem reason
enough to justify this action.
I think the council should continue to work with ALUC to find a compromise. If that means lowering housing density in
the area where airplanes take off and land, so be it. Airport traffic is only going to increase in the years ahead. Local
traffic and air quality will also suffer from the high density development being proposed.
Please don't take a vote that will trigger costly lawsuits or referendums. Find a compromise solution.
