S LO CITY CLEW
I wish to say that I appreciate very much the time that has gone into the planning of the Dalidio property for
development. We are all aware of the thorn in the side this property has been.
Having said that, I do believe the City of San Luis Obispo SHOULD NOT override the Airport land Use Commission
authority in this area. We will be subject to costly lawsuits funded by our citizens who have no personal interest in
seeing this land developed this way. If the city loses, which I personally believe will be the outcome, what then? Will the
developer sue the city? I see no good ending here.
There is nothing laudable about putting low cost housing in an unsafe area.
This part of town has already been extremely adversely impacted by traffic due to the development along Los Osos
Valley Road. Adding more houses here will only make it worse.
There are many others who can give more extensive arguments about this but I think I've made my point. I am writing as
an individual who is concerned about her neighborhood and the safety of prospective residents, and the likely legal
costs should this be contested in court.
Why not get a ruling first and then proceed?
Thank you for your time and attention in this regard.
Very truly yours,
Leslie Halls
