Thank you for your consideration. DEC 0 9 2014 Good evening. I'm Kevin Hauber, 1131 Monterey Street, I am Senior Loan Officer for the Green Division at The Mortgage House. I'm going to comment on the subject at hand from the perspective of someone concerned with the environment and concerned with getting people into homes. I meet with people every week who work in San Luis Obispo and cannot afford to live here. The shortage of workforce housing is and has been one of our most pressing problems. If we want to address issues around traffic and emissions, we need to reduce the number of people commuting to San Luis Obispo and make more space for those who work here and want to live here. Affordable workforce housing is not just an economic issue; it is and environmental issue also. i The proposed actions of the Airport Land Use Commission will make the problem worse. The more the supply of housing is restricted, the more working families will be driven out of town, and that would be a huge loss. The Land Use and Circulation element provides the long term opportunity to deal with these issues. The actions of the Airport Land Use Commission are an overreach that will only cause more problems. Vote to override the Airport Land Use Commission and bring as much common sense to the growth of SLO as possible.
