Subject: Support of Rental Housing Inspections
Dec. 15, 2014
Dear Mayor Marx and Members of the City Council,
DEC 15 2014
I support the RQN's proposed Residential Rental Inspection Program, as described in their Dec. 12th letter to the
Council. There is no place for landlord's who rake in profits one the backs of renters desperate to find a place to live in
San Luis Obispo. This is in direct opposition to neighborhood wellness. This policy is only one aspect of the difficulties
facing residents who are of working class or economically depressed looking for housing. City policy allowing older
homes to be turned into businesses, new downtown prohibitively priced housing and increasing the number of renters
in established homes all contribute to squeezing the rental market tighter.
Please maintain quality neighborhoods that promote the health and well being of residents.
Sincerely,
Debbie Farwell
