VMREAS' the City Council of the: City of San Tanis: Obispo did,
on the: 21st. day of June, 1926, pass its Resolution of Intention
No. 199 (New Series.) to order the hereinafter described cork to be
done and improvement to ba :mad:e: in said City, which Resolution of
intention was duly and legally published as required by law as
appears from the affidavit of E. C. Rodgers now on file. in the
office of the. City Clerk of said City; and
VMREAS notices of the - passage of said Res- olution of Intention
No. 199 (New Series.) headed "Notice: of Improvement" were duly and
legally posted aloe; the.line of said contemplated work and improvement
and along all the. open streets within the. district to be assessed. as
described in said Resolution of Intention, in fora and manner as
required by law after -tha passage of said Resolution of Intention as
appears by the: affidavit of L. 111. Moore, Street Superintendent of said
City of San Luis Obispo, who personally posted the same. and who after,
the completion of the pos=ting of said notices filed his said affidavit
in the: office: of the: City Clerk of said City making oath that he: c:om-
plated the, posting of said notices on the. 29th. day of June, 1926; and
VMFZAS' all protests or objections presented have been disposed
of in time, form and maxiner•as required by law, and said City Council
has now acquired jurisdiction to order the work and improvement;
NOW TIMIREFORE-, IT IS =BY RESOLVED by said City Council that
the public interest and convenience requires the work herein described
and said City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo does hereby order
the: following work to be: done and improvement to be. made in said City,
t o-Wi t.:
That Hill Street. from the. easterly line. of Santa... Rosa Street to
tha westerly line: of Ida.Streat (except that portion thereof between
the_ easterly and westerly lines of the: Southern Pacific Railroad
Company's right of way) ; and that Santa... Rosa Street from the, northerly.
line, of Monterey Street: to- the: northerly line. of Sycamores Street, (except
that portion thereof occupied by the.present.hydraulic cement, pavement)
each be: improved by grading the:. sane. for the full lehgth between said
lines and for- the.full width between the:curb lines as shown on the
plans here.inaftex mentioned, and by paving the: same: for the full length
betwee-1z said lines and for the. fiill width between said curb lines,
(excepting therefrom the space. occupied by the existing gutte.rs:) with an
hydraulic cement concrete. pavement six.(6) inches in thickness, and be
further improved by the construction of hydraulic cement concrete curbs
of the -form and dimensions, shown on said plans in said atre.eta and
between said lines at the: particular places shown on said plans; and be
further improved by the construction of hydraulic cement concrete side—
Tjalks in said streets and between s aid lines at•the:particular places
shown on said plans; and be further improved by the: construction of
driveway approaches: in said streets. -and between said lines at the
particular places shorn on said plans; said driveway approaches to be
made -by depressing the curb in the manner shown on said plans and where
sidewalks are called for hereunder to be further made by laying an
Hydraulic cement concrete pavement be:twe:en the sidewalk and the -curb
such pavement. to be constructed: of the sane: thickness, and in the same.
manner and with the. sane_ materials. as specified for such sidewalks;, and
such pavement and depressed curbs to be. of the: length and at the: places,
as: shown on said plans.
That Peach. Street from the easterly line of Santa Rosa. Street
to the wseterly line of Essex Street and Toro Street, from the northerly,
line of Mll Stre:e:t to the. southerly line of Ha:thway. Avenue. (foMe.rly
Sycamore.Street), be- improved by the.construction of hydraulic cement:
concrete curbs of the form and dimensions shown on the: said plans, in
said streets and between said lines at.the. particular places: shown on
said plans -;. and be further improved by the construction of hydraulic
concrete sidewalks in said streets and between said lines at the
particular places shown_ on said plans and be. further improved by the.
construction of driveway approaches in said streets and between said
lines at the particular places shown on said plans, said driveway
approaches to be made by depressing the. curb in the manner shown on
said plans, and where sidewal-Its are calle.d,for hereunder to be further
made- by laying an Hydraulic concrete: pavement between the sidewalk,.
and the curb, such pavement to be constructed of the same: thickness
and in the: same manner. and with the-1 same: materials: as specified for,
such sideweiks and such pavement and depressed curbs: to be_ of the.
length. and at the. places as shown on said plans.
There: is excepted from said work above: mentioned any and all
such work already done: to official line: and grade:, and there: is, excepted
therefrom any duplication of work at the same: place due: to the re.— crossing
of lines in the foregoing description of`.work or duplication of language.,
it being: the. intention to describe. only one improti:ement of the: same. class
at any one point., nor shall any work be done which is: shown on said plans
as not to: be- done.
All'of said work and. improvement, shall be done. in accordance .
to the -plans and specifications made therefor by the-.City Engineer of
said City and adopted by said City Council as the.. plans a-rid specifications
therefor on the 21st.. day of June:, 1926, which plans and specifications
are now on file in the: office of the City Clerk of said City of San.
Luis.Obispo, and are hereby referred to for all particulars therein and
thereby appearing.
Reference-is hereby made: to said Resolution of Ir_tent:ion No.
199 (New Series) for further particulars:, including a description of
the work and i?nprovemen.t :and of the ass.es:sment district, which Resolution
of Intention is now on file in the, office: of the.-City Clerk of said City.
That said City Clerk is hereby directed t.o post a. notice. of
said work together with plans-and specifications therefor, conspicuously
for-five-,(5) days on or near the-Council chamber door of said City
Council inviting sealed proposala or. bids for doing the-work ordered.
She is. also directed to, publish for five: consecutive days in the
S1.
"Piornino Tribune ", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed,
published and circulated in said City of San Luis Obispo and hereby
designated by said City Council for,that purpose., a. notice inviting
such proposals and referring to the-specifications posted and on file..
All proposals or bids offered shall be- accompanied by a, check
payable to the City of San Luis Obispo, certified by a responsible .
bank for an amount which shall not -be less than ten (10 %)per cent. of
the aggregate. of the-proposal, or by a bond for the sane amount and
so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify
in double the same. amount over and above all statutory exemptions,
before an officer compe.tent.to administer an oath.

Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid
assessments and bear interest at the rate of six J6) per cent.per

improvement bond act of 1915., the-last installment.of which bonds
shall mature nine (9) years: from the. second day of July next succeeding
ten (10) months-from their date:.

A RESOLUTION FIXING THE' SALARIES OF TBS CHISF
OFFICIALS OF TNR CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO.
BE IT RESOLVED by the: Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo, as follows:
That from and after the 21sto day of October, 1926, and

until the further order of the,City Council of the City of San Luis
Obispo, there shall be allowed and paid to the several Chief
Officials of the City of San Luis Obispo, salaries as follows, to -wit:
The City Treasurer shall receive a salary of 50.00
per month as full compensation for all services required of him by
law or by virtue- of his office.
The City Collector shall receive.a salary of 125900
per month as full compensation for all services required of him by
law or by virtue of his office,
The City Attorney shall receive a salary of 100.00
per month as full compensation for all services required of him by
law or by virtue of his office.
The= Chief 'of Police of the City of San Luis. Obispo shall
receive: a salary of 175.00 Per month as full compensation for
all services required of him by law or by virtue- of his office.
The Chief of the Fire Department of the City of San Luis
Obispo shall receive s salary of $ 5, .00 _per month as full compensation

NORTH BROAD, CHORRO, MORRO, OSOS, `•.6'c. , "JOHNSON,
STREETS IN TEE: CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO.
RESOLVED, that L. W. Moore, City Engineer of the City of
San Luis Obispo, be, and he is hereby directed to furnish this
Council with plans and specifications for the following work to
be done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit:
That the= hereinaf ter mentioned streets in said City between
the lines hereinafter mentioned (except the portion occupied by
the bridge hereinafter mentioned) be improved by grading the same
for the full length between the lines hereinafter stated and for the
full width between the curb lines (excepting therefrom the.space
occupied by the existing gutters) and by paving the same for the
full length between the lines hereinafter stated and for the full
width between said curb lines (excepting therefrom thespace
occupied by the existing gutters) with an hydraulic cement concrete
pavement.six (6) inches in thickness; and be further improved by

7. Chorro Street from the Northerly line of Monterey Street, as
said Northerly line of Monterey Street runs along the Southerly line
of Block No. 14, in the City of Sari Luis. Obispo, produced across said
Chorro Street, to the Southerly line. of Palm Street,
8. Morro Street from the Northerly line of Monterey Street to
the Southerly line of Palm Street.
That Palm Street from the Easterly line of Johnson Street to
the Northerly line of Monterey Street be improved by grading a

section of said street, twelve (12) feefVon eac side of the: center
line of said street for the. full length between said lines and by
paving said section for the full width of twenty -four (24) feet and
for the full length between said lines with an hydraulic cement
concrete pavement six (6) inches in thickness.
That the following described portion of
Monterey Street be improved by grading the entire area of said portion
of Monterey Street and by paving the entire area of said portion of
Monterey Street with an hydraulic cement concrete pavement six (6)
inches in thickness. Said portion of Monterey Street is described
as follows, to -wit: That portion of Monterey Street, between the
Northerly line of said Monterey Street and the Northerly edge of the
present cement concrete pavement on said Monterey Street, included
within the production of the: parallel lines forming the exterior
f
boundary lines of the twenty -four (24) foot section of pavement to
be constructed on Palm Street between the Easterly line of Johnson
Street and the Northerly line of Monterey Street,_produced Easterly
from the Northerly line of Monterey Street to the edge of the present
cement concrete pavement on said Monterey Street.
That the hereinafter mentioned streets in said City between
the lines hereinafter mentioned be improved by' constructing in said
streets and between said lines and at the particular places shown on

heretofore established at.all places except where said.grades shall
be changed as hereinafter set forth, and at such places as hereinafter

set forth. The grade.of the center line of the.pavement of said streets
so to be improved shall be- changed so that the elevations of the same
.shall conform to the average of the official elevation of the curb on
opposite sides of•such streets. The curb face where not eight (8.)

Elevations are established according to the: heights in
feet and decimals of afoot above city datum, which datum is the
' horizontal plane lying 82.92 feet vertically below the surface of the
upper end of the metal bolt of brass inserted in the center of the
middle: cope stone. of` the lowest bench of the--southwest line of the
stone steps in front of the San Luis. Obispo County Courthouse in said
City, more.fully described in Section 1, of Ordinance 47, passed by
the Board of Trustees of said City, Tec.ember 1st.., 1890, and entitled,
"Ordinance -No. 47 Establishing a= base :of vertical distances and
fixing the grades of streets and sidewalks in the City of San Luis

The. elevations. at, which said work is to be. done are
shown on the plans above mentioned and reference is hereby made to
such plans and to the:spe.cifications above referred to-and to the
profiles forming a -part of such plans and specifications for-a,
further description of the: grades to which said work is to be done.
And whereas, said contemplated work and improvement in +
the opinion of said City Council is of more than local or ordinary

dollars for each regular meeting of the board of education
which he shall attend, provided that he shall not receive

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING TIC: BONDING OF TIM CITY
OF SALT LUIS, OBISPO FOR CERTAIN 14-TISTICIPAL IEPRO rP1TTS.
BE "IT'RESOLVED by the Council of the City of' San Luis.
Obispo, as follows:
That the public interest demands, and the public necessity
demands the.acquisition, construction and completion of the following
municipal .improvements, the cost of which, and the. cost of each of
which will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income /
and revenue of the said City, to —wit:
1. The construction of an Imhoff Tank at and on that certain
real property belonging; to said City and known as and called the City
Farm and the construction of an outfall sewer line connecting said
Imhoff Tank with the present sewer system of said City, together with
the incidental work in connection with such improvement; and the
extension of the present sewer system of said City.by the construction
of new sevze.rs within said City, including new sewers upon the following
streets:
On M7ountain View Street from North Broad Street westerly 300 feet;
On Peach Street from ?,.orro Street to Chorro Street;
On Chorro Street from 11ill Street to Peach Street;
On Johnson Street from First Street to Second Street;
On Johnson Street from Palm Street to Iulonterey Street;
On Grand Avenue from Palm Street to Hill Street;
On Ella.Street from Santa Rosa.S'treet to Ruth Street;
On High Street from Bushnell Stre.e:t to.Rachael Street.;
On Haskin Street from Bushnell Street to Racrael Stree.t.;
On North Broad Street northerly 700 feet from the present sewer.;
On Broad Street from Hiouera Street to 11onterey Street;
On Palm Street near the intersection of Chorro Street.
That the-public interest and the public necessity demands
the acquisition of those two (2) certain pieces or- parcels of real
property, which said pieces. or parcels of real property are
particularly, described in paragraphs numbered 2 and 3 hereof, and
that the cost ok said real property, and -the cost of each piece or
parcel•thereof, will. be. too great to be. paid out. of the ordinary
annual income and.revenue of said City of San Luis:Obispo.
Said pieces or parcels of'real property are described as

the County of San Luis- Obispo, State of California, particularly

ISSUANCE" OF STREET ILUDROVE1,1ENT BOERS PURSUANT
TO RESOLUTION OF INTEI'TION N , .R 195. (Nees Series),
DETERETINING THE AMOUITE OF UNPAID ASSESSMENTS,
PRESCRIBING THE' DENOTvII NiATIONS OF SUCH BOIMS
AND PROVIDING FOR.THEIR ISSUANCE.
SEAS, pursuant to statute, notice of filing, list of
unpaid assessments, eras: duly given in the manner and form required
by law, that the warrant, assessment and diagram recorded on the
4th4 day of January, 1927, for the work and improvement made by.
Southwest Paving Company, a corporation, under that certain contract
awarded to it on the.16th. day of July, 1926, on a portion of BUCHON
STREET in the said City, and that said warrant, assessment and
diagram were returned to the Superintendent of Streets, together with
a written statement of all payments: received upon the said assessment,
and after the full expiration of twenty (20) days from the date of the
said warrant, the said Street Superintendent duly made and filed with
the: City Clerk of -the said City of San Luis Obispo, California, a
complete list of all assessments unpaid upon the said assessment,
which list is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the said
City, now upon evidence shown this Council determines that the assess-
ments therein mentioned were then unpaid, the total aggregate. thereof
being the sum of Thirteen Thousand Twenty -seven and- 90/100 Dollars
($ 13,027.90) and that assessments numbered 11, 13, 81, 124, 140,
143, 160, 1612 1772 1782 179 and: 1.90 have since been paid, and also
that the sum of Twelve and. 50 /100 Dollars ( $ 12.50) has since been
paid upon assessment number:182, leaving a:balance.of Four Hundred
Eight and 33 /100 Dollars ($ 408.33) still due upon said assessment
number 182,; that no other assessments have since been paid and.that
the total of the assessments paid since: the.filing of said list is
the`sum of One: Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty Three and 08/100 Dollars`:
R 1,823.08), and that there now remains unpaid the sum of Eleven
Thousand Two Hundred Four and 82 /100.Dollars ($ 11,204.8:2) upon the

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Luis Obisp
did, on the 20th day of June, 1927, adopt an ordinance regulating
traffic upon the public streets of said city; and .
WHEREAS, Section:Twenty -two of said ordinance prohibits
the display of unauthorized signs., or any sign other than an
official warning or direction signal erected under competent
authority upon the public - streets in said city; and
.WHEREAS, the Automobile Club of Southern California has
.heretofore under authorization. of this City Council, without cost
to this city, provided numerous street warning, direction signs
and signals of.a standard character;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council
does hereby designate the street warning, direction signs and
signals erected and maintained by the Automobile Club of Southern

Types of Road Signs as erected and maintained by the Automobile
Club of Southern California," which said pamphlet .is on file with
the Clerk of this Council, subject to such modifications in the
character of said signs and signals,erected by the Automobile
Club of Southern California as may from time to time be approved
by this Council.
AND.DOES FURTEER RESOLVE that this Council will not pe
mit the erection'of any warning or direction signs or signals up
or along the streets of this city, except by the Automobile Club
of Southern California,'as long as that organization continues
such street signposting work in a manner satisfactory to this
Council and without cost to the City of San Luis Obispo.

AREAS, the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo
did, on the 27th. clay of July, 1925, pass and adopt its Resolution
of Intention No. 185 (Neer Series:) relating to certain work to be done
in said City as therein described, undex and pursuant to the. provisions
of the. "Improvement Act . of 1.911" as: amended, and di4 by said res olutiin
of Intention• provide: that serial bonds to represent, unpaid assessments,
and bear interest at the; .rate of six per cent. (6%) per annum, will be

real property belonging to said City and known as: and called the. City
Farm and the.construction of an outfall sewer line-connecting said
Imhoff Tank with the-present-sewer system of said City, together with
the incidental work in connection with such improvement; and the
extension of the. present. sewer system of said City by the construction
of new sewers within said. City, including new sewers upon the. following:

for one week in the "Daily Telegram ", -a:daily newspaper, printed and
published in said City, and in any other newspaper of this State, if

Such notices shall briefly describe the bonds to be sold,
invite. sealed proposals for their purchase, to be: fi.le.d with the-
City, Clerk before a day and hour to be named. On the day and after
the: hour specified, the Council, shall open the: proposals (if any) and
accept the offer of the highest bidder, if it equals or exceeds the
face value of the bonds bid upon; but if no offer is equal to the_ face

Should the bids of two or more persons be equal in amount,
