Dear Mayor Marx,
I am writing to you to express my concern over the plans for the Monterey Hotel which is to be built behind Pappy McGregor's Pub and
Grill. I think it is too big. The size of the proposed hotel will interfere with the quality of life of the people living in the San Luis Drive
neighborhood. It will bring noise and a lack of privacy to the residents. The most important reason I am opposed to the hotel plans is
that it does not honor the guidelines set out in Ordinance 1130. Our precious creek needs to be protected.
I have lived at 1720 and 1720A on San Luis Drive since 1987. The Quality Suites is directly across the creek from my home. I
consider the Quality Suites to be a good, quiet neighbor. I would like to see the Monterey hotel follow the example of The Quality
Suites . The Quality Suites was built with only two stories in the building at the back of their property on the creek bank. The other
buildings in their complex are three stories. They also do not have balconies on the creek bank building. These two factors have
reduced excess noise and provided the privacy I need to enjoy my backyard.
