HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-17-2015 PH1 Johnson 2COUNCIL MEETING,. p"Z 11 -2-0k5- ITEM NO.;�_ council mcmoizanbum DATE: February 13, 2015 TO: City Council VIA: Katie Lichtig, City Manager FROM: Derek Johnson, Community Development Director SUBJECT: PH -1 -1845 Monterey Hotel Outline (Hearing Date: February 17, 2015) As discussed in the 2 -17 -15 Council Agenda Report, the Monterey Hotel project will be heard by the City Council due to receipt of two appeals: 1) the Applicant's appeal of the Planning Commission's decision to uphold an appeal of the Administrative Hearing Officer's decision to approve an Administrative Use Permit and 2) the appeal filed by Angella Soll and Robert Lucas (on behalf of residents within the San Luis Drive neighborhood) of the Architectural Review Commission's design approval. City Council hearing format allots ten minutes of speaking time to the applicant and the appellant, however, given the complexity of the project and City Council review of two appeals, staff recommends allotting extra time to the applicant and appellant as provided in the following outline: 1. Staff Presentation (10 -15 minutes) 2. Public Comment a. Appellant Presentation b. Applicant Presentation c. Public Comment d. Optional Appellant Rebuttal e. Optional Applicant Rebuttal 3. Public Comment Closed 4.
