A minute about Perspective; something emphasized 45
yrs ago when T squares and pencils were in use in my
first year architecture classes.
Here is the perspective looking toward San Luis Creek 2
weeks ago from my front porch. I'm told that is the
Super 8 motel; a 2 story structure with underground
parking which is 375' away. By the way, that is a minor
limb of reportedly the second largest Live Oak in the
countly with a canopy that reaches to the far side of the
street but does not obscure our view of the Super 8. A 4
story structure would BE my horizon.
Most of us learn to color inside the lines very early in
life. Urban planning has much to do with this concept as
does this project. It dawned on me soon after receiving
my graduate degree in urban planning that I would
require toxic quantities of caffeine to remain perky or
even awake assessing what fit with a community's
present day bias of good planning. Monterey Hotel may
fit inside lines pot what 1130 and the general plan
outlined.
According to my Callaway Razr Laser reading and some
algebra the corner of the is ft

Another perspective.
I am secure in the feeling that if any you were to have
what equates, in perspective, to a large seven story box
built behind your house only a baseball outfield throw
away, you would be where I am standing.
In "Thrive" Buttner's study found SLO to be the happiest
place in the USA. One doubts it was because of the
number of upscale hotel rooms available within walking
distance from downtown, but more likely
neighborhoods and foundation of community laid by
forward thinking council members like yoursel kmany
years ago.
Ask anyone from the LA area, development will come.
Let's see if we cannot guide it to maintain what we have
and let the developers work a little more from our
perspective.
