Subject: Water vs Building permits
To Those Who May Be Concerned:
I do not understand why there is a continuance of issuing building permits when we are in the
worst drought in recorded history. This must stop, we cannot even support the existing
population on the Central Coast with the water on hand and with no foreseeable rain in the
future what will we do when all the wells go dry? There are a countless number of dry wells in
Nipomo alone, not to mention the remainder of the counties, why would anyone think we could
allow more people to move into this area at the present time. Until the drought is over,
expansion needs to stop. The entire State of California is rationing water, we have all been told
to tighten our belts, now let's have the people we elected to watch out for our best interests
do just that. Our best interests are not being addressed as long as new building permits are
being issued.
To better address the present situation in regards to permits already issued, new residents and
businesses should not be allowed to occupy those new buildings until this drought is over and
only God knows when that will be. In the fourth year of a drought already with no end in sight,
wake up folks and quit selling our water to those that do not already reside here.
