Appoint Hana Novak to a one-year term to begin immediately and expire on March 31; 2002, DISCUSSION On February 28, 2001 the Council Subcommittee conducted six interviews for two vacancies on the Architectural Review Commission. On March 20, 2001, Council approved the Council Subcommittee recommendations to appoint/reappoint Zeljka Howard and Chuck Stevenson:, Since that time, Mark Chandler resigned from the Architectural Review Commission creating another vacancy. The Council Subcommittee reviewed the existing applications on file and is recommending the appointment of Hana Novak to complete the balance of Mark Chandler's unexpired term. I good at conflict resolution and am successful at bringing diverse opinions together to formulate a consensus. These are useful skills to have when deali4with the general pt blit. As an ARC Commissioner I hope to facilitate in the process of.:bringing slow gr wth, no growth and pro growth groups together in an effort to estibbih,common gr and and to open up a dialogue between.opposing interest groups. I£.stir successful in m efforts then many residents who live within the community can feel:that their or inions have been heard by the advisory body that represents them. IE ve I ever attended a meeting of the ARC or another advisory body?:What o servation did I make? I 1ave attended several ARC meetings. I found them to be lively and thought provoking. I have observed that when residents of the community show up to ARC greetings and raise issues of concern, their concerns are generally addressed in a reasonable and fair manner.
