Re: Study Session March 12f Water Sewer Plans and Development Impact Fees
I received notification of the scheduled hearing on Thursday, March 7th. This is
not enough time to prepare for such an important issue.
It is strongly suggested that the City educate itself on all issues relating to the
proposed new fees. The practical result may be to drive all development into the
County and significantly devalue commercial and industrial properties currently
located in the City limits.
Before any action is taken and any proposed changes in fees are implemented, it
is strongly recommended that a citizen committee be appointed comprising City
Staff, engineers, local business representatives, property owners, and other stake
holders who will be effected on a long-term basis by the proposed changes.
Changes of this magnitude can seriously effect the economic viability of the City
of San Luis Obispo.
It is suggested a second study session be conducted approximately 1 month after
the initial session when the public has had the opportunity to digest the report
and staff's plans.
Thanks for your consideration. RECEIVED
