SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PROMOTIONAL
COORDINATING COMMITTEE (PCC)
RECOMMENDATION
1. Reappoint Wilda Rosene to a three-year term beginning on April 1, 2003 and expiring on
March 31, 2006.
2. Reappoint Diane Roberts to a four-year term beginning on April 1, 2003 and expiring on
March 31, 2007.
3. Appoint Louise Justice to a four-year term beginning on April 1, 2003 and expiring on March
31, 2007.
DISCUSSION
Three terms will expire on the PCC on March 31, 2003. Sandy Baer's term expires on March 31,
2003 and she is not eligible to reapply for the PCC. Wilda Rosene's term expires on March 31,
2003. She has reapplied and is eligible to serve a three-year term. Diane Roberts' term expires
on March 31, 2003. She has reapplied and is eligible to serve a four-year term. After advertising
and interviewing three applicants, the Council Subcommittee is pleased to recommend
reappointing Wilda Rosene to a three-year term, reappointing Diane Roberts to a four-year term,
and appointing Louise Justice to a four-year term.

' 1. Am an interested resident who would like to have a more active involvement in
improving the quality of life for all residents and visitors as well as the quality of the City
government by providing the Council with resources and recommendations to make better-
informed decisions, increase the lines of communication, and provide opportunities for
discussion of public issues with an eye%ar to the need of balancing the advisory
recommendations with policy or community priorities in this time of budget cut back.
2. I have not as yet attended a PCC meeting or other City advisory body meeting. But,
should I be considered, will plan to do so now that I have the meeting schedules.
3. Confidentiality-as evidenced by having been on the Grand Jury 2001-02; presently
working as a Head Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant.III with the County at their
County Counsel offices two days a week [scheduled through August of this year];working
with the office of the District Attorney for a combined period of 1-1/2 years and past
working experience in various legal offices. Fairness and Reliability—as evidenced by my
work history and references.
Coordinated and planned the Grand Jury Reception for incoming members of the 2002-03
Grand Juries statewide in August of last year. Past working experience in advertising,
selling, promoting my own company [5+years], and-- I do a tremendous job of cold
calling.

way to community matters whether it was as a representative for the City or company, as a
laborer in building'children7s playgrounds, assisting at MADD meetings, providing
assistance in recycling programs, and volunteering to serve on election days. I am presently
active in the community as a member of the Opera Lovers Association, ushering at the PAC,
enjoying the Mission Plaza events and all this in addition to my part-time temporary position
with the County Counsel.

RECOMMENDATION
Reappoint Steve Caminiti to a two-year term to begin April 1, 2003 and expire on March 31,
2005.
DISCUSSION
There is one vacancy on the Tree Committee. Steve Caminiti has reapplied and is eligible to
serve a two-year term. The Council Subcommittee interviewed one applicant and recommends
reappointing Steve Caminiti to a two-year term.
