1. Why do you want to serve on a City advisory body?
After many years of hard work, I now have some free time in which to give
something back to the community. I have been on advisory boards in Los
Angeles and find the effort rewarding. I feel my experience in real estate
provides me with a valuable perspective to the community.
2. Why do you want to be a member of the MTC and what do you hope to accomplish?
I am particularly interested in public transit and hope to provide insight that may
enhance the MTC's assets in providing more transit services to the community
while staying within the budget.
3. Have you ever attended a meeting of the MTC or another City advisory body? What
observations did you make?
No. I am a relative newcomer to San Luis Obispo. I have attended City Council
meetings.

4. What qualities, experience and expertise make you a good candidate for the MTC?
For fifteen years I owned and operated a residential real estate brokerage in
Downtown Los Angels. During that time I was an appointee on the
Transportation Committee of the Community Redevelopment Agency. During
that time we were influential in promoting mass transit in Downtown Los Angeles,
offering perspective on the Blue, Red and Gold rail lines. Our goal was to
deemphasize automobile traffic and promote mass transit.
5. In your view, what are some key transportation issues in SLO?
As a new resident and homeowner in the City of San Luis Obispo I am deeply
concerned with the dramatic increase in automobile traffic within the three years I
have been here. I believe that SLO is uniquely positioned to take advantage of
infill housing and the increased use of public transit to mitigate automobile usage.
With a vibrant Downtown combined with the two colleges and additional
shopping centers on the edge of town, it seems that SLO can mitigate traffic with
public transit before we submit to the urban sprawl so prevalent in other
California communities of the size..
6. Is there any additional information about yourself you'd like to share? (Please feel free to attach a
resume, if you have one).
See attached resume.
Thank you for your consideration.
