CITY OF SAN LUIS O B I S P O
FROM: Audrey Hooper; City Clerk a<,-
-SUBJECT: REDESIGNATION OF JACK HOUSE COMNIITTEE MEMBER
RECOMMENDATION',-_y
Redesignate Richard Dresp from an at-large member of the Jack House Committee to the County
Historical Society representative.
DISCUSSION
The recent death of Marion Rodman resulted in an unscheduled vacancy on the Jack House
Committee. Ms. Rodman filled the position of representative of the Historical Society. On
March 15, 2005, Council appointed Richard Dresp to the Jack House Committee as an at-large
member serving a four-year term. Mr. Dresp is a member of the Historical Society and qualifies
for the vacancy created by Ms. Rodman's death.
Because the at-large vacancy provides a broader base from which to recruit for this position, and
because the City does not have any current applicants for the Jack House Committee, it is staffs
recommendation that Council redesignate Richard Dresp's position to the Historical Society
representative's position. Mr. Dresp has concurred with this recommendation. If Council
concurs, staff will advertise in accordance with State law and begin the recruitment process for
the at large vacancy.
