Dear Members of Council:
I agree with the first speaker at tonight's city council meeting.
Living close by,I would like to thank you for taking another look at the intersection of Santa Barbara Street&Upham Street to better
accommodate bicyclists. The intersection is an integral part of a viable network of bicycle lanes and pathways in the city and deserves
special attention.
I think our bicycle boulevard is a good beginning and I recently visited it with my whole CE.527 class.A very interested student lives
right there and he could give valuable input. His name is Nate Smith,594-1117,e-mail above.
I would also like to suggest that the Bill Roahnan Bicycle Boulevard be completed.
Thank you for your leadership not only for the bicycle community but also for being a strong advocate for pedestrians, public
transportation and healthy living.
Sincerely,
Eugene JUD, Fellow Institute of Transportation Engineers
